built on the best available data
When our organization first launched, our mission included bringing together global data to identify locations around the world that were most vulnerable to the destabilizing effects of climate impacts. We needed this information to target our work and ensure it centered the communities that are most impacted by climate change and the systemic injustices that create vulnerabilities to it. We are excited to share that this enormous initial endeavor, creating a related data platform and conducting a rigorous analysis using its data, is now complete, not by us, but by an amazing group called the Water Peace and Security partnership. While opportunities for extending their research may remain, WPS’s work has provided the foundation for us to begin the next phase of our mission: understanding the intersectional root causes of the vulnerabilities they have identified, and supporting local leaders in their efforts to create systemic change.
Our Initiatives
Local Contexts & A
Every location is beautiful, unique in both its circumstances and its vulnerability to climate change. We invite you to learn more about the Caatinga biome and other locations where we are working, as well as some of our approaches to contributing to local change happening there.

Collaborate with Us
Our Partners
CEPB’s partners are companions who offer space for us to not only collaborate
together, but, above all, allow for the very important connection with communities
impacted by the effects of climate change. In the case of Northeast Brazil, for example,
the main effects are intense periods of drought, a reduction in rainfall and the increase
and intensification of the desertification process.
Because of this, national organizations and government agencies seek international
cooperation to join forces, knowledge of different areas and levels in order to produce
actions and policies to mitigate actions that deteriorate the environment and seek to
create ways of adapting to the effects of climate change, especially to help the most
vulnerable communities.
The involvement of all is essential for the actions to become a reality and reach the
most vulnerable communities. Your help is the master key to unlocking these actions.
